Our Story

Sharon India Foundation is the story of God’s sweet providence in the life of an ordinary American family and His gracious provision for a people half a world away.  I won’t go into great detail, but a few years ago, my wife and I were having significant difficulties with our rebellious teenaged son.  At the same time, I received an unsolicited email from a pastor in India named Satyanandam.  By God’s grace, I didn’t delete the message, but replied and began communicating with him on a regular basis.  A few months later, when the situation with my son reached a boiling point, I asked Satyanandam for prayer in this matter.  With hundreds of faithful Indians praying while my wife and I read to our son from the Scriptures, God intervened in a dramatic and powerful way.  Our son, convicted and repentant, was a new man and our family, once strained to the point of breaking, was whole again.

In profound gratitude for God’s transformative grace, my son and I travelled to Hyderabad, India to personally thank Pastor Satyanandam and his congregation for their prayers and to worship and fellowship with them as brothers in Christ.  Remarkably, it was exactly a year to the day of the first email.  Words cannot convey the depth of that humbling and uplifting experience.

Once back in the States, I was asked to speak at a few men’s conferences about my experiences in India.  Without solicitation, men of God were moved to stand with the poor pastors of India.  As a result, numerous individuals began praying for and financially supporting Indian pastors and their churches.  Since then, we have formed a Board of Directors, received non-profit status, seen seven American businessmen travel to India and, by God’s grace, supported hundreds of Indian pastors and provided for the needs of thousands of impoverished Christian men, women and children.   And who says God doesn’t use email!

Sharon India Foundation has no administrative costs and 100% of all donations go directly to the Indian pastors and their ministries.
